ABOUT THE ARTIST

Art, for me, is an escape—a brief respite from the pace of everyday life. I invite viewers to lose themselves in the abstract backgrounds, to form their own interpretations, and to wonder, “How is this created?” and “Can I touch it?”
My creative instincts began early. As a child, I designed tissue-paper evening gowns for Barbie dolls, sculpted flowers from mashed white bread and glue, and painted spontaneous designs on my bedroom walls whenever inspiration struck. Later, as a working wife and mother, I carved out a dedicated space in my home—a place where I could embrace the mess and fully immerse myself in creating.
My process begins with fluid painting, an unpredictable dance of color as it moves and reacts organically across the canvas. From there, I build dimension using clay and plaster, layering depth and texture onto wood panels before sealing each piece with a smooth, glass-like epoxy resin finish.

Nature—especially trees—is my constant muse. My work reflects the beauty that surrounds us, blending traditional subject matter with contemporary presentation. Though I am a lifelong Hoosier, I remain continually inspired by Indiana’s natural landscape. The quiet stillness, the towering presence of native woods, and the serenity of being immersed in nature feel deeply spiritual to me.
In a playful twist, many of my pieces are named after song titles, adding a layer of personality and a subtle sense of humor.
Like my Endless Knot designs, my artistic journey is ever-evolving—constantly changing, yet never ending.
